He is a California congressman so I was quite familiar with him and his voting record. A stand-up guy and a loss to America that he's dropped out. Hunter was against a lot of those free trade policies run amok that Bush pushed thru, and he was for U.S. sovereigty and against the starting of a NAU -- all the more reason why the big corporate bucks did not come his way.

Hunter is my congressman--great guy and really someone as CC pointed out--who has the country's best interest.

His son is running to replace him --and he will win. Iraq soldier--two tours. Another great guy--big shoes to fill..

Clinton, Obama, McCain Huckabee and Romney are all liberals to their respective cores. Each will follow their personal political agenda's and not the will of the people. You get what you pay for and prepare for four years of paying.

Perhaps Clinton and Obama are liberals, but I wouldn't call McCain or Huckabee or Romney liberals. They aren't conservatives, but neither are they liberal.

I filled out one of those "Pick Your Candidate" from an e-mail that I received, and the candidate that was closest to representing my views was Duncan Hunter. I'm really disappointed how so few people know of him.

Normal people will recognize Hillary and Barack as the wimpiest of the centrists seeking to succeed Dubya. Obama, Clinton wimpy centrists? Since when is socialism centrist? NORMAL people want secure borders, lower taxes, no amnesty and a strong foreign policy that includes a military unparalleled in the world. Romney is a semi-repentant social liberal. That makes him a LIBERAL. Huckabee sided with liberals in the SBC, raised taxes, wanted scholarships for illegal aliens (denied to out of state US citizens) and agrees with Hillary on socialized health care. That makes him LIBERAL. McCain ... . Now let's see, McCain/Feingold, McCain/Kennedy, McCain/Lieberman the Gang of 14 to mention but a few. Yes he is the least liberal among the remaining candidates but he is a LIBERAL. (Bill1, I know no one NOT destroyed by the USMC ordeal)? What ordeal? Destroyed by what? Not denying that he (Cunningham) was a crook in the end. He was also one of the most highly decorated United States Navy pilots in the Vietnam War, receiving the Navy Cross once, the Silver Star twice, the Air Medal 15 times, and the Purple Heart for wounds he received under enemy fire. He and his RIO (Lt. (JG) W. P. Driscoll) were the Navy's only Vietnam War air "Aces". Unlike most crooks I believe he was truly sorry. Duncan Hunter (thick as thieves), said on November 30 that he and Cunningham spent the rest of November 28 in prayer and that Cunningham wanted to "serve those who are suffering (and) to begin his long road of atonement" for his crimes. I guess Hunter is guilty by association.
