If Huckster loses S.C. he is done and so is the flat tax. Maybe Huckster and his boyfriend Chuck can console each other on Chuck's ranch Brokeback style.

It is unfortunate that the crackpot Huckabee is campaigning for the fair tax because his name is being associated with it, to the point that some people are mistalenly calling it "Huckabee's Tax Plan".

If Huckster loses S.C. he is done and so is the flat tax.

Hate to break it to you but the flat tax is deader than Fred Thompson. If Mikey comes in second, he can keep rolling-the field's down to three and Mitt ain't gonna win.

It's too bad Fredisdead can't win in SC, not because I like him, but because there would be another "front runner" messing things up.

How many "front runners" can a party have?

here's hoping that our good conservative friends in south carolina understand that mccain and huckabee are propped up by the mainstream media because if one of these two men win the nomination, it will secure the white house to a president who is NOT conservative as neither one of these are that.
mccain has curtailed our freedom to speak out for a candidate...with fiengold...he has also curtailed the right of the senate to even discuss SC nominees.....gang of 14.......and he has shown over and over again that even liberal dems here on the DR dont like his immigration ideas.
huckabee is just another governor from arkansas who THINKS he is a musician but is actually NOT a conservative.......immigration
, taxes, ban on smoking, and other items...

so who do I think they should vote for.

well thompson of course but rommney also has management skills that might work well in the oval office..........

think real hard carolina bros and dont let the media tell you who is the frontrunner and who is electable....make up your own mind......

From a guy who voted for the biggest spending, biggest government intrusion President since WW2.

Twice!

If it makes you feel any better, BLT, nobody from the GOPpers is going to go to the WH in 2009, unless its as part of a tour group. Hillary or Obama may find time from their busy Presidential role to say Hi, but that's gonna be about as close as they get.

The GOP is due for another 40 years in the wilderness. Bush did it. Seriously.

And with just a little luck that includes the presidency. It's not as though the GOP can brag about their foreign policy credentials.

McCain is the lesser of two evils. Huckster needs to go after that speech he did the other day when he said that the constitution would be easier to change than the "word of the living God". If anyone is interested in how a theocracy works look no further than the middle east.

Just like after Nixon resigned in shame... remember how long it took the GOP to get back into the White House then!? Seemed like an eternity!

The Democratics shot themselves out of the water when they abandoned our ally, and the UN's protectorate: South Vietnam.

They can't be trusted with the defense of this nation because they have proven, since then, that they have a pogrom to minimize, even destroy the military; always reducing the military budget and VA benefits.

I doubt, with this further example of their efforts to lose another war when a Republican is in charge, that they will ever get the presidency back for more than one term, if that.

The only really legitimate function of government under our constitution is the national defense ... but it seems democratics want to rule ALL the facets of your lives ... from what you say, to what you eat ...

"The GOP is due for another 40 years in the wilderness."

Go ahead, nominate Hillary...then watch what happens.

Trying to rewrite history? Nixon a republican got us out of Vietnam. Not that we should have been there in the first place but lets keep the facts straight.

Rezn says, "Trying to rewrite history? Nixon a republican got us out of Vietnam. Not that we should have been there in the first place but lets keep the facts straight."

If we had simply removed our troops from Vietnam with a settled peace as Nixon wanted, then I think the patriotic populace would have forgiven Democratics, who were demanding withdrawel of troops by Nixon from the very start of his administration.

However, they didn't stop with our troop withdrawel, but determined to force a communist victory by removing ALL financial support for South Vietnam to defend itself ...

... a scurrilous act of cowardice and betrayel, and one that I will never forget, and along with millions of those who do the voting.

Now, with the actions of further selfish partisan betrayel while the USA is at war ...?

You anti-patriots have puled and whined yourselves into the corner and I hope you rot there ...

""mccain has curtailed our freedom to speak out for a candidate""

Yeah???? So, BLT give us an example of how your ability to express your opinion was curtailed.
You might consider not repeating stupid talking points that are bull shit in the first place.

""However, they didn't stop with our troop withdrawel, but determined to force a communist victory by removing ALL financial support for South Vietnam to defend itself ...""

Cuz as we all know, if we had supported the corrupt government of S. Vietnam financially they would have defeated the Communists.

hahahahaha Tadowe just makes up the bull shit as he goes along. That last pile was really smelly.

Yes, it is too bad because the Fair Tax ought to be recognized as the nonsense that it is completely on its own merits....or lack of merits.

"smelly"

And redundant.

Right on Danni. Those who support this "Fair Tax" need to read some of the articles written about it lately...like the one in the Washington Post I believe it was...which tell how out of whack and illogical this tax plan truly is...

It is NOT a Flat Tax...I have seen that in a No. of posts above...and it is Dead Wrong.

A true Flat tax w out the loopholes would be great.
Everyone pay the same %, but it would be almost impossible to close all of the loopholes since both lawyers and congressmen alike count on them for tax evasion and fraud by the corporate elite...too many vested interests to close those.

Hucklebee is a crackpot, not only for his tax and economic views, but for his ultra fundy religious views...the Repub Party ought to Flush him...

Two best Repub candidates are Romney and McCain...

Romney and McCain, though certainly not my choices for president, are at least sane and intelligent.
For Republican potential nominees that is really a change from the recent past and the others running.

They can't be trusted with the defense of this nation because they have proven, since then, that they have a pogrom to minimize, even destroy the military; always reducing the military budget and VA benefits.

Seems to me Clinton's military kicked ass in Bosnia and Kosovo. The tattered remnants even kicked ass in afghanistan and Iraq until the idiotic Republican civilians got involved. And Tad, not to inflict reality on you or anything, it was the Dems who pushed Bush to increase VA funding and pay for the troops. Remember, it was your Glorious Leader who said 3 1/2% more money was too much for the troops.
I would also mention that it was Reagan who let the murder of over 500 soldiers-Lebanon and Air Arrow go unavenged, save for attacking and barely capturing a tourist island in the Caribbean.
And let's not even bring up Ford and Bush Jr.'s knee-crawling to the commies when they highjacked a boat and spy plane.

thats correct and that has been talked about several times as the biggest disappointment.....
but think of the money spent with other attacks upon after 9/11 if gore had been in the white house or kerry......what would that have cost...and THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN MOre with thier police action responses.........

if I knew bush would not find a veto pen until late and he was running against thompson or rommny I would have a whole different screen name..

but nice try though.......

no maam....you are the one who is full of bullshit.

mccain feingold flies completely against the first amendment.........right of free speach is curtailed when at a certain time, you cant speak out for your candidate if you have the money to do so or even otherwise..........

and you cant debate the other points of immigration and the gang of 14.....now I may have had it turned around but it was simply not the action of a conservative to put together that coalition which kept republicans from their senate duties when it came to SC justices..............
I said it then.....we will not forget about that and his VOTE AGAINST TAX CUTS and his support for so many other NON CONSERVATIVE issues......

bigjohn...it is no surprise that you and danni and other liberals.......in cahoots with the main stream media.......want desperately for mccain or huckabee to be the nominee because you think that it will mean not only the white house in dem hands but the end of the reagan conservative movement....

"You might consider not repeating stupid talking points that are bull shit in the first place."

Like this, Danni:

"of course with taxes back up over 50% because of dems in congress....."

well if you dont mind I wont use this ringing endorsement as I go about campaigning for republicans............

rommny is a businessman and maybe thats what we need at the moment..
mccain is no conservative and will mean the white house will be in dem hands, something I will work hard to keep from happening.........

AGAIN.....its no surprise that you include him......your inclusion of rommny is a little bit of a puzzle....but thats not the first time I have wondered what planet you were from........(THATS A JOKE< SO RELAX).........

"mccain feingold flies completely against the first amendment"

Really? Then why did Bush sign it? Why did the Supreme Court uphold most of it in McConnell vs FEC?

"rommny is a businessman and maybe thats what we need at the moment.."

Romney was nothing more than a corporate raider who bought up companies and gutted them. He was also a poor governor who would not have won reelection had he not realized it and decided not to run. His Lt. Governor ran on his record and only got 35% of the vote. He's a fake plastic opportunist who's willing to switch positions at the drop of a hat depending on who he's talking to.

The positives about him are that he is vastly superior to W in the substance abuse area and in his ability to speak coherently.

So when i ask you a question that you don't answer, you do so by calling me a liberal?

How has McCain inhibited your free speech? You can't answer that, can you.

And I'm an independent, and proud of it. I think the parties are part of the problem. We have two corrupt parties in somebodies packet for the most point. Just voting for one or the other is tantamount to treason.

Also, wasn't McCain a Reagunite? You seemed to love Raygun (what the hell did he really do for us besides increase the deficit?)

So try answering the question instead of deflecting for once.
