Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Tuesday, January 15, 2008

After several days of some of the campaign's most heated rhetoric so far, including some that ventured into explosive issues of race, the top three Democratic presidential candidates gathered for a debate that offered a decidedly polite and conciliatory tone.

What group are they pandering to tonight? Oh,yeah...casino workers...

Free Poker Chips for everyone!

snark,snark...

Actually, Hillary Clinton -- in an idea suggested by her husband -- will promise looser slots.

Haha! Good'un....FF!

Ha Ha--Two FF!!

Hey the polls have closed in MI and awaiting the results..

Murphy

Kukucinich is excluded from the debate--they found another judge to rule in MSLSD's favor and exclude him.

Murphy

I'm glad RCADE has kept his sense of humor despite the obsessive flagging he is having to deal with lately from the whiners (they are upset that the rotten DeadPotato has been booted).

Anyone have an actual link that we can see this debate at online?

Kukucinich is excluded from the debate--they found another judge to rule in MSLSD's favor and exclude him.

You have a link to that story Murphy...I'd like to read it.

If you go to msnbc.com and then to the feature picture scrolling box the story is there....only three to debate tonight...Nevada Supreme court let Kucunich be excluded.

PART OF THE SAME ARTICLE-I HOPE THE DEMS DON'T ALLOW CLINTON TO WIN THEIR NOMINATION.

The court case was in Nevada, where a few of Clinton's supporters sought to force a change in groundrules for next Saturday's caucuses.

Their objective was to prevent several caucuses along the Las Vegas strip, where thousands of Culinary Workers Union employees -- many of them Hispanic or black -- hold jobs.

The rules were approved in March, when the former first lady was the overwhelming national front-runner in the race. But the union voted to endorse Obama last week, and the lawsuit followed.

You are a BAD man, Rogers!

I can't believe NBC News is keeping Dennis out.

They should leave him in because he is more interesting in many ways than the others, ways that he has translated into policies that could well serve America

And, he adds color (so to speak).

I may change my support back to Dennis the K and Elizabeth the Red Alien Giant as a protest.

(I know, he really won't have a chance then!)

No comment on the 8:36PM post on this thread...hmmmm WhineCork(tm). But, it's easy to see why you support the whiners that are for Hill-arious, when she's ahead the rules are ok, but not when she's not the favorite.

Their objective was to prevent several caucuses along the Las Vegas strip, where thousands of Culinary Workers Union employees -- many of them Hispanic or black -- hold jobs.

Rideon, the Nevada democratic party was wrong from the start to give so much favoritism to one group, while still keeping many other groups faced with similar problems disenfranchised.

I thought this piece summed up the whole lawsuit the best:

"Of course it is political. If this was really a case of a bipartisan organization worried about precincts being created for the advantage of another organization a lawsuit would have been filed last year. After all, what about all the union grocery workers, miners, postal workers, retail clerks, gas station attendants, restaurant help or Reno casino workers who from the beginning knew they would be unable to participate in the small Saturday window that caucus rules allow? Apparently the plight of those disenfranchised voters didn't quite stir the soul of Nevada's teachers union as much as the Clinton slight by Culinary.

But despite the semi-sleaziness of the lawsuit, made all the more so by Clinton and Company's denial of any knowledge of this happening, there is merit to the complaint. Why should one segment of the voting public be given favor over the rest? This could never legally occur in a state-sponsored primary, but for a party-run venture does anything go?

What makes this all the more hypocritical is the big argument by Senator Harry Reid to move Nevada's Democratic caucus into an early state role was it's supposed diversity. Somehow tilting it to the advantage of a union that represents barely 2.5% of the state's population hardly seems very diverse."
dullardmush.blogspot.com

Bottom lines: I agree they should have to get to polling places like anyone else, ALSO bottom line: the Hill-arious camp wouldn't have filed a lawsuit if she had been the favorite.

The Nevada NEA hasn't endorsed Clinton.

School workers deserve the same access as casino workers.

They are calling Romney the winner in MI..

The story was on Fox by Brit at the start of their MI coverage.

RIDEON

The link was there not even 1 minute ago.
What happened!! I'll see if I can get it back.

ALSO bottom line: the Hill-arious camp wouldn't have filed a lawsuit if she had been the favorite.

Then Obama's supporters likely would have. The way that the Nevada Democratic party set up their caucus is just totally unfair.

What needs to be asked is why did it take so long for Nevada democrats to realize how unfair these rules really are. For example, how come the casino workers in Reno and other parts of the state weren't screaming to get the same advantages the las Vegas casino were getting when the rules were first set up?

RIDEON

Okay, it's back on. They broke it for a minute for some stupid announcement on McCain. Just go back to my link and click on the debate link on the strip across the top of the screen.

Nevada is a caucus--

And they don't have work places to do actual voting either--they have places to go to and vote!

You saw the caucus on c-span--they are located at schools and city halls and liquor stores and such..

(OK I threw in the liquor store)

Murphy

They are calling Romney the winner in MI..

Finally, some good news for Rudy. Now if Huckabee or Thompson wins South Carolina. He still has a good chance to take Florida.

Murphy

Romney wins in Michigan. (He also spent 6 times the amount of $$$ everyone else did to in order to win.)

Hillary won 60 plus percent to take it for the Dems' side.

Chris Matthews projects Hillary lies in debate, then cries.

Hillary did just lie..........let her campaign person off the hook for his obviously referral to Obama's teenage drug use (unlike Bill of course who NEVER inhaled). CLINTON'S ARE LIARS.

Thanks cc i've had it off the MSN site. Appreciate it though.

Now I know what Hill-arious is experienced in.....LYING....runs in the family.

I am SO proud of ALL these candidates!
(sniff, sniff)

MURPHY

This link I found is for you.
Full coverage of the Michigan results as they come in.

Up to the Minute MICHIGAN primary results

I'm proud of Obama and even Edwards.

Prediction: Dem ticket will be Obama/Edwards

That way it won't be Hill-arious

More Hill-arity!

Chris,
Doesn't that mean that Michigan is a wildcard? My understanding was that if more than 15% voted uncommitted, MI would send delegates, but they would not necessarily be bound to the winning candidate.

Obama is heads above Hill-arious.

Okay, that's good.

next is the economy.

Watch Globalista Hillary song and dance her way around this one. She's the one who whored for unlimited H1 visas for India to flood cheap (will work for 1/3rd the wages) labor into our country to take over the IT jobs. Her record in helping the American worker is a joke.

Don't worry she'll have a good set of LIES!

UNBIASED

Chris,

Gee, I don't know. I'm learning more every day on all the election process. Actually getting rather interesting as I wasn't quite sure how caucuses and stuff worked. I also heard that registered independents (like me!) grew in number by 20% last year. People are sick of the phonies in both parties.

We got here with Bill lobbying for some of those you claim to be concerned about Hill-arious.

Ok--sorry about that I was taking a recorded statement from a claimant--

Now watching the debate--who is answering truthfully?

Oh no one..

Murphy

Edwards is the best -- the most knowledgeable and the best for this country.

Obama said that at least W never lost a paper. Hillary looked pissed.

Could anyone hear what the heckler was saying? It appeared that somebody yelled, "These are race-based questions. We don't want race-based questions from you two."

This debate is a snoozer. The questions are terrible. All process, no policy.

Bush GIVES the other countries billions $$$$ in foreign aid and then those same countries LOAN that same money back to us at high interest rates!

Here's Obama making the question about Citi going to the Saudis for a bailout for a piece of their pie--talking about solar --personal for NV..

Now mortages--

What does it mean for the dollar when the American Companies go overseas to get bailed out???

They are not answering the question--blame Bush blame the corporations--BK because of no HC--change the question--good John--

What does this do for the US dollar and our economy--??

They don't seem to understand the question or too stupid to tell us..

Murphy

Edwards fought for his life from birth for survival in mill towns? What kind of place was the Carolinas in the '50s? He makes it sound like Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

This debate is a snoozer. The questions are terrible. All process, no policy.

You got that right, Rcade. I'm going to jump off the keyboard and back to the stove to finish cooking. I'll listen to it over my speakers and if something gets me mad I'll jump back on here.

WHY doesn't America listen to Edwards!

I voted FOR it....but, I was happy it didn't become law (Hill-arious responding to a question about the bankruptcy law she voted FOR.....she is the definition of a POS)

Hillary said it didn't become law??? The bankruptcy bill went thru and it destroyed many families who had catastrophic medical illnesses but because of that new law could no longer write it off and so lost their homes and everything else. Hillary LIES.

Oh God, here we go with Hillary pandering again. whaaaaaaa.

Obama said that at least W never lost a paper. Hillary looked pissed.

What? I missed it..

Now HIllary et al want to punish the banks for giving loans to people who can't afford it--and change the mortgage laws--the laws are already there.

Let's face it ---people got into a house too big for their budget--they had a choice and they chose wrong--

Hillary sound frantic--doesn't she?? She is urgent--get her the depends..

Murphy

They're all tossing around their "bills" like confetti.

Michigan lost all 156 of its Democratic delegates for allocating delegates outside of the Democratic National Committee-approved timeframe.
Michigan lost 30 of its 60 Republican delegates for allocating delegates outside of the Republican National Committee-approved timeframe.

Wonder why we get lame ducks running, doesn't take long to see who really chooses.

Bush GIVES the other countries billions $$$$ in foreign aid and then those same countries LOAN that same money back to us at high interest rates!

Too bad Americans don't understand the Federal Reserve prints money and then loans it to "us" and runs up an interest bill. Too bad America will not be voting for Ron Paul.

A very bad vote for Congress on the credit card BK bill--

There are already predatory laws on the books.

Why can't people be responsible--liberalism is so bad for the country...

Murphy

OMG!

Obama is agreeing with Hill on the mortgage stuff--

See--It will be HIll and Obama for the nod..

What a terrible twosome!

Murphy

I voted FOR it....but, I was happy it didn't become law (Hill-arious responding to a question about the bankruptcy law she voted FOR.....she is the definition of a POS)

Bankruptcy law.......the majority of voters are between ages 45 and 59, those are probably the most effected by the law.

Also, 45 to 59 are the heart beat of American work force and all of the candidates say nothing about off shoring the jobs.

Hill-arious is stupid....the Fed works independently and she can't control those interest rates....yet says we need to control the mortgage rates BUT the other rates too.

They froze the foreclosures after Katrina and it DID NOT HELP!

Freezing the INTEREST RATES is even worse!

98% of the people who own homes are paying thier mortgage on time.

So we --you and me--bail out 140,000 people who took out a loan too high for their income and they had the choice to take a FIXED rate and they did not want to ----AAAAUUUUUGGGGG!! Oh and blame Bush who was right their when they signed the loan docs.

Murphy

Hillary has kind of an irritating voice -- not soft or smooth at all -- borderline shrill. I wouldn't want to have to listen to it for the next 4 years.

LISTEN to John Edwards. He's a good man.

cc, could you also get Hill-arious to quit bobbing her head...............heck I got the answer, just get Bill near her.

Anyone see where Tyra questioned Hillary about Monica?

Great thread, Rogers!

(Sorry. That was for the crack about Hillary, lol)

How many times have you flagged that post by RCADE as abusive....hmmm WhineCork(tm)?

So What is their plan for energy independance if it does not include Nuclear or building rigs off the coast or drilling??

What accumulating spit balls will fix our problem--because it won't come from solar or thermo or cows burping!

Murphy

Hill-arious is stupid....the Fed works independently and she can't control those interest rates....yet says we need to control the mortgage rates BUT the other rates too.

Posted by ride_on

She should have been called on the carpet for that boner.
35 years of experience!

WisGod.............leave boner out of a discussion concerning a Clinton please. Before you know it she'll be debating what the definition of "is" is.

BS BS BS ALERT for John--
We are not the BIGGEST Polutter in the world--

It is China and India--certainly China--you can't even see the buildings!!

I can't stand that lizard! Friggin whore! Takes all the money--not from special interst but rake it in from his trial lawyer friends..

All the appliances are energy efficient already--but no tax credit for buying them!

English not a requirement for immigrants-??-95% of the country agrees with this premise.

Murphy

Again, Obama is heads above Hill-arious, MUCH MORE GENUINE. Smarter too.

Hillary feels like a wedge and Obama is much more of arms encircling and bringing people together. imHo.

Why does Hill-arious KEEP saying this is a black/brown debate?

Sure is a boring debate. I hope the Repubs keep Ron Paul in the debates for awhile to keep things more interesting.

Why does Hill-arious KEEP saying this is a black/brown debate?

Posted by ride_on

Blacks and Latinos. I thought for a moment Blacks and Muslims and she was referring to Barrack.

The liberals have started talking about the Black and Brown debate on issues and Brown v. Green debates.

Wow--Williams lost $130.00 last night--wonder if it was the tables the slots or the girls??

Murphy

More Hillary shenanigans being exposed RIGHT NOW!

Williams....as in Bill (Hillar's escort).....oh you mean Williams the announcer.........

Hillary was just called properly on the carpet......playing the fear card with "terrorism"

Williams the announcer just admitted he lost $130 last night in LV.

And now Obama compliments Hillary again!!

I tell ya--these two are making amends to get on the ticket together..

Murphy

She's too stupid and is keeping it up.....so what's your point Hillary? Oh Obama will be less vigilant than you????????????

Okay, forget what I said about John Edwards being for what's best for America. He's as lousy a globalist the rest of them. I'm throwing in the towel. This debate sucks.

John Slimeball--Like Bush didnt say the same things--"He would say by the President"

These folks don't have a clue on how to solve the economic issues facing this country.

HIllary is a fibber about when she wanted or decided to run for president. It was before Billy-bob

And Williams wants to thank the judge for ruling in MSLSD's favor and exclude Kukucinich from the debate.

Murphy

This debate sucks.

Posted by CalifChris

Amen.

Now there is Keith Overbite--no thanks..

Murphy

FREE DENNIS KUCINICH!!

I still like all our candidates.

I think we're in trouble and I don't see much (if any) light at the end of the tunnel.

tell ya--these two are making amends to get on the ticket together..

Murphy

Yep. Obama will be globalista Hillary's second in command as VP and both will do exactly what the multinational corporations tell them to do -- just like Bush did.

We're doomed.

40% of Michigan is sending Hillary (basically the ONLY Dem on the primary ticket---with Kucunich) a message. 40% voted UNCOMMITTED.

I still like all our candidates.

Yep. Reading this thread and watching the GOP debate the other night makes me feel really good about leaving the GOP and becoming a DEM in 1999.

I think we're in trouble and I don't see much (if any) light at the end of the tunnel.

Posted by ride_on at 2008-01-15 11:02 PM

If there is a light in that tunnel it will be a train coming at us from the opposite direction. We're doomed.

I still like all our candidates.

TOOL!!!!

Good for you YAV....make it Bush/Clinton/Bush/
Clinton....yep you made a big change.

Chris Matthews is losing it 'cause he thinks Hillary came out of this debate so well on the war and has great prospects with the debate turning to, "it's the economy. stupid!".

I'm always curious about what some people didn't like about Clintonomics; was it the prosperity or the peace?

Finally American Idol is on!

Turn the channel and forget this shit until later..

They came to San Diego to audition folks.

Everyone can sing--some sing better than others.

I would be one of the others.

Later--

And watching the Dems debate Tuesday was so insightfull? The only insight I saw was that Hillary doesn't have a freaking clue about mortgage interest rates but will bail out anyone facing foreclosure. My bank will never see another house payment.

Well, I watched about an hour of this so called 'debate'. I have to tell ya guys, it doesn't look good for the dems. Horrible answers all the way around. You could tell that they were bullshitting there way throught the answers. None of them have a personality. They are all very hard to listen too, especially Billary.

It was bad, really bad. My wife, who could give two shits about politics came in the room, watched for 10 minutes, and even she said it was horrible.

YUCK!

Yeah, Formerlib, an unbiased opinion like yours is real valid. Gee, too bad we don't have some great candidates like y'all....hahahaha!

Danni,
I was interested in what the candidates were going to say. I gave them an hour of my time. Did you find any of the candidates inspiring, worthy, and not talking out of thier ass? Everytime they open thier mouth its extremely hard to listen too. Hell, bring back Kerry.

Edwards is the worst, Hillary is their because she was married to an ex-president, that is it. Obama is there becuase he is a clean talker, and black, just like Biden said.

YUCK!

Actually, Hillary Clinton -- in an idea suggested by her husband -- will promise looser slots.
