If the folks in Michigan with the mess Bush's free trade policies have made for that state -- huge job loss, stagnant wages, trashed manufacturing base, etc -- vote for another Bush-type globalist like McCain, Romney, Hillary, et al. -- then those people deserve what they get.

Are those the same disastrous trade policies the Clinton administration supported?

BTW: What's Hil's position on globalization?

Republicans have been campaigning here, listening to the people and asking for their vote. Except for Kucinich, who could not get his name out of the ballot even though he wanted, not other Dem has come here to talk to the people of Michigan and listen and ask for the vote. Yet, they will ask for the vote in November, boy that will be fun. The GOP has already said it will remind and again remind the electorate about how the Dems ignored Michigan.

Considering what CC wrote above, Dems are making a mistake by not being here. They are bigtime fools for allowing other states to dictate when and where they will campaign.

The Michigan Legislature also droped the ball. They should have passed a law saying that if your name is not in the primary ballot, it can not be in the presidential ballot. I believe Florida has done this. Even if they wouldn't physically campaign here, at least Obama and Edwards supporters would have something more substantial to vote for than just "uncommitted." The Legislature being asleep on the job is symptomatic of what is wrong with this state. We have economic troubles and they raise taxes, brillant move! Not only that, the Legislature and Governor refuse to deal with the structural problems, instead chosing to cave in to special interests.

It is silly that candidates would promise to help out Michigan, considering there are 49 other states in this country and the prez can't devote that much attenttion to just one, and even if he wanted to, it would not be apropriate. Populism and pandering has been the them of this election, but here it's on steroids.

Any results/exit polls yet?

Anton, if anyone knows that Bill, Shill and Das Bush are Global Elite scum, its CC.

None of the dems and only half or the reps votes will count. Why should anyone even vote in the primary?

Becasuse people are thinking that by convention time the delegates will actually be seated. If there is a clear wiiner in each party by convention time, it is assumed they will be seated. The nominee, especially the Dem nominee will want to smooth things over and will have the delegates sit at the convention. If that happens, then future threats by the NH, and IA become pointless because other states will realize that their delegates won't be excluded either.

The mistake Michigan made was going it alone. Michigan Dema and Reps should have gotten together with neighboring states to have a mini-supertuesday. It's easy to strip delegates from 1 staes, but imagine 4 states at a time? Imagine the candidates pledging to avoid 4 states?

Eventually NH and IA unfair stranglehold over the primary process will be broken. Even if it means haven primaries in Thanksgiving of the year before the election.

IA and NH are just two puny states. 48 vs 2, 296M v 4M people, it seems to me they will lose in the end.

That doesn't matter to "Dems Bad/GOP Good" Anton.

My Ron Paul vote has been cast. :)

Actually, my position generally is "Dems Bad/GOP Bad."

But, you're right, it doesn't matter.

Tax Changes in Michigan: Measuring the Effects of Expanding the Sales Tax to Services
Gov. Jennifer Granholm's proposed excise tax on services could cost as many as 19,000 Michigan jobs, decrease investment in the state and generate lower revenue than projected, according to this study.

SO what do they do????

South Korea exports 2000 cars to the US for every car they import.
Who is responsible for international relations? I know it's not Nancy Pelosi cause she talked to the Syrians once and the Bushies went nuts.

Obama's Fault(Copyright pending)

Hey, my Durango has 149,000 miles on it with not much maintenance beyond the routine. It's my fifth Chrysler product since '86 when I unloaded a Buick POS for my first Plymouth minivan.

My personal ride has been German since the 60's, though; BMW and, later, Porsche. Now the C4S is the weapon of choice for it's 30MPG.

My 2001 F150 has almost 200k on it,not much besides an electrical problem....and now an exhaust leak....the problem with it is that it cost 36k....that's too freakin' much for a decent truck...

I think with all the poor economy problems on all the news stations I think he will get momentum. He is the best for economic problems.

Glad you asked as it looks as though you thought I was anti-Romney (I am) and pro-Clinton (I am not).

Yes, those are the same free trade policies -- Clinton signed NAFTA and Bush pushed it into the steroid zone. Both the Clintons and all the Bushes (and their hand-picked boy Romney) are globalists who will continue the disasterous free trade policies. Just listened to Lou Dobbs who described the DISASTER that is Michigan. 34,000 manufacturing jobs lost every year. All the new jobs are now culinary and service jobs (read illegals working for $20,000 a year) versus the $75,000 a year that Americans used to get doing manufacturing jobs in Michigan.

Factories and the manufacturing heart of America is being intentionally destroyed by the multi-nationals who have sought the cheap labor overseas by relocating our manufacturing base there and replaced those jobs here on our soil with cheap illegal labor in non-manufacturing unskilled, non-educated jobs like making beds and frying hamburgers.
FACE FACTS, PEOPLE.

BUSH IS DESTROYING THE U.S. MIDDLE CLASS

VOTE OUT THE GLOBALISTS!!
(Clintons, Bushes, Romney, Hillary, McCain, et al.)

Hey RP is in 4th!

Hey RP is in 4th!

Who? Who in the hell is RP?

I can think of one reason why Romney will get the Republican nomination: he's the best looking of the candidates. That's about how deep the typical voter is.

BUSH IS DESTROYING THE U.S. MIDDLE CLASS

The process began long long before Bush. He's just another president in the chain.

I said the Republican nomination. Hillary is going to be the next president. Put none-of-the-above on the ballot and I'll vote for it.

Put none-of-the-above on the ballot and I'll vote for it.

LOL!

You wouldn't vote since you already think it is a waste.

You feel the need to complain about the system but refuse to try and contribute to making the system better.

The first step to making the system better is to stop supporting it and to encourage others to stop supporting it. To try to make the system better by using it, only makes the system worse. That's how we got this monster.

I am starting to believe you are right Ray. I don't remember who it was that said that if elections served a useful purpose they would have been outlawed already.

The American people apparently do not want to live in a free country. The American electorate keeps rejecting the message of piece and prosperity, respect for civil rights and individual liberty, and a return to a limited constitutional government. For all the hot air about change, the American people want to keep voting for the same assholes who want to harm America. Insanity is defined by doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. The American electorate keeps voting for assholes and keeps complaining that things are not changing. What the hell will it take for things to really change, a depression? Well, we will soon have one courtesy of the ignorant American electorate that keeps voting for these jokers.

I am fucking depressed tonight. I need a drink, or two. I am gong to bed.

It was a no brainer for Romney to win tonight--hey for the RP fans--he did pretty good--less than 10%--right?? Another no brainer.

Murphy

Does Hillary get any of the MI delegates or are they all going to the convention as uncommitted?

The uncommitted went over 15%--reads 39%--so almost 40% of the folks voted against her??

Better than Thompson or Giuliani. Two so-called "serious" candidates. Both who were considered front runners at one point.

Here's yet another no brainer: 90% of the people are mesmerized by the Idiot Tube. Eventually they accept it as reality. Half of them don't even read.

What did Romney do anyway? Save American Motors. For years we propped them up with subsidies. So they like Mitt. Hmmm.

What few know, i guess even Huckabee, is that Romney has won 2 states and is # 1 del.

You are truly an idiot. Do you even READ what is actaully going on, who said what, and the campaign's responses to statements made by surrogates?

I can't wait to hear you condemn the repubs in November for their tactics.

Yeah. Must suck to only get 60% of the vote. I wonder how many of those dems were voting, to the extent possible, for their own candidate (Obama, Edwards).

Nope - dooesn't fit the talking points on the right - nope, they were on a mission to make a specific statement against Hillary.

This type of shit is going to get REALLY funny as time goes on, I expect.

Michigan is at least smarter than Iowa. Romney is a snake oil salesman but Hucksterbee is even worse.
Congratulations to Michigan for rejecting the Huckster. Of all the Republicans he is by far the most dishonest and most dangerous.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton credits hard work and crocodile tears for her upset win over the better funded and better organized "noncommitted."

Her victors nets 0 delegates.

I don't remember who it was that said that if elections served a useful purpose they would have been outlawed already.

It was Emma Goldman.

"What did Romney do anyway? Save American Motors. For years we propped them up with subsidies. So they like Mitt. Hmmm"

Romney played the native son card. Yeah, he was born and raised here, but he hasn't lived here or ran a business here or even taken a shit here in the last 40 years. He is a phony Massachusetts liberal as far as I am concerned. What he did is promise that all auto jobs would come back. How he plans to do that, I have not clue. At least McCain, for all his faults, had the guys to say those are not coming back, but that workers could be retrained in other jobs.

I don't know what is worse, Romney being such an asshole and lying to people about their jobs coming back, or the idiost who bought it and voted for him.

But even that pales in cmparison to Dems voting 55% for Hillary even thoush she did not come here to listen to the people and pander and ask for their votese. What a disgrace.

There are rumors that Hillary might break her pledge and campaign in Florida, who knows.

Hey RP is in 4th!

Drew as many votes as fredisded and RudiG combined.
Not sure what it says about Ron's candidacy, but it means the other two should be taken off life-support and allowed to die as naturally as anything to do with those guys can be natural.

Ron Paul Second Biggest Winner in Michigan?

www.drudge.com

Ron Paul did well and is poised to hopefully improve in some of the big states. Still very strong in Google searches, which is also a positive. See report here:

ronpaul.myfeedportal.com

so there was mention of the auto workers and all about thier problems.
but dont any of you think that a lot or at least some of those problems are caused by themsleves....
anyone remember the percentage of a cost of a new car goes just towards retirement......money that goes towards workers who dont work anymore....
isnt that part of the problem are dont they have any responsibility for thier predictament..
and you can blame bush and all, but thats not the whole answer...is it?? I dont think so...how about some reasonable and logical answers and you can even include him in the equation if you want.....

any takers on a sensible question??

rommney also won here because iowa and new hampshire voters were republicans and independents and even dems since they could vote in either.....so even though this wont get him a lot of votes, it was at least a REPUBLLICAN Primary andnot something else.....
