ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistan's interior minister on Friday blamed al-Qaida and the Taliban for the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and said another key opposition leader, Nawaz Sharif, is also under threat of militant attack.

"We have the evidence that al-Qaida and Taliban were behind the suicide attack on Benazir Bhutto," Interior Minister Hamid Nawaz said.

Um, yeah sure.

YEAH!

Of course they did!

Just what the fuck do your think the $150 million in US tax Dollars a month buys --- "Democracy" or something!

Bhutto was a pro west democracy advocate, Musharraf is a Dictator who likes the wests money ----- who the hell do you think Bush and Cult wanted to pony up with!

Hint:

Not the Dead One!

If anybody would know what al queda is up to, it'd be the pakistan government. I wonder if they had to pull somebody from the hindu killing squad to whack Bhutto.

We've already given Musharraf 11 billion.

But it's clinton fault, any rightwing loon will tell you.

I'm calling bullshit on this claim. Everybody knows Bush eliminated both the taliban and al queda before he liberated Iraq.

Me! Piss off and hand me that bottle.

Yeah, this liberal media is again striking fear once again about a year before election time.

Apparently the chinese proverb has not been learned by those in America, they keep getting fooled again and again.

All we have here on the drudge is a heap of complaints, not a single viable suggestion, as most USUAL!

Let me guess, you all want Musharaf held responsible, and the US to sell him down the river. Maybe your boys Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, and Vladimir Putin can conduct the investigation, trial, and firing squad!

So what's your suggestion, Dave?

Or are you just complaining...

Hillary Clinton Friday called for an independent, international probe into Benazir Bhutto's murder, as turmoil wracking US anti-terror ally Pakistan reshaped debate in the White House race.
The Democratic front-runner weighed into the crisis just six days before first 2008 party nominating contests, as candidates brandished their national security credentials following the ex-Pakistani premier's death.

"I'm calling for a full, independent, international investigation," Clinton said in an interview with CNN.

"I think it's critically important that we get answers and really those are due first and foremost to the people of Pakistan," Clinton said.

The former first lady suggested the probe could be along the lines of the international investigation that followed the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Hariri in 2005.

"I don't think the Pakistani government at this time under President (Pervez) Musharraf has any credibility at all. They have disbanded an independent judiciary, they oppressed a free press."

NOT WHAT SHE SEEMED TO BE

Yes I do, request, as Nato is currently saying, that Pakistan continue to help fight radical extremists.

"BRUSSELS (AFP) -- NATO hopes the Pakistani military will continue to help combat insurgents near the Afghan border despite the killing of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, an alliance official said Friday."

Obviously this is bad for Musharaf, one of Bhutto's aides said.."An aide of the former prime minister called the government explanation of her death "a pack of lies."

C'mon, they got a cheesy transcript of an Al-Qaeda dude saying "they killed her". What's that about? If I was a top-secret member of the Al-Q club, and was in on something like this, of this magnitude, and I knew everyone was eavesdropping on me, I'd say something cryptic like, "The frost is on the pumpkin" or "The marionette has lost her strings" or something else in Islamo-code, y'know?

Anyway, when are the videos coming out? You'd think there would be plenty of visual evidence of what happened. No gory hijab, no "back-and-to-the-left", no nothing.

Bhutto sure helped Al-Qaeda when she decided to stick herself out of the sunroof to wave at her fans. Bad move. then again, perhaps it was all faked. I'm not into conspiracy theories, but doesn't this whole thing BEG for a few to be fashioned in the next few weeks?

kerrin
you think that musharraf is going to retire on his measly army pension?
not hat he seems to be either.

you can also blame Al Queda for the permanent U.S. military base in Iraq.

Calling Buffalo Bob...KGBee has a new assignment for you!

re: pakistan's nukes. i'm not sure whether anyone has touched on this but i'm made to understand that warheads are kept separate from initiators/detonators which are themselves kept separate from delivery systems, with each component part being under the command of a musharraf loyalist.
so no worries then.

DRAMATIC video footage of the attack which killed Benazir Bhutto has emerged tonight.

Bhutto was HOT, I wounder what she looked like naked?

Where was the security Musharraf promised her?

And yes, she was hot

I believe this article! I think it is very probable Al-CIA-da killed her.

I remember when Bobby Kennedy was assassinated.

I feel for the people of Pakistan

I was 5 years old, and I walked in the house after school. My mom was standing in the kitchen crying, and I asked her why she was crying. She said "someone just shot the president".
And I remember all of the rest that came after.

I want f-ing bombs going off non-stop in the so-called "tribal regions" until we either have the carcass of BIN HIDEN and his Egyptian lackey, or we have one-eyed Taliban a-hole in a box. Nothing else matters, especially the diversion known as Iraq. But you'll never get that from this pussy president Bush.

Jomana we could bomb them for years, and still not hit all their hiding places. That's the nature of a mountainous countryside. Besides would you want them to totally fall apart and push the entire country into the arms of radical Islam?

I kinda doubt this is an intended result of an US action, despite the conspiracy potential. Musharraf has been playing Bush for years as the only game in town, it was the US who egged her into returning, and forcing Mushy to accept her. The US desperately needed her as an alternative to either put pressure on Musharraf or to replace him. This is seriously bad news for Bush, the US, and the people of Pakistan.

.."An aide of the former prime minister called the government explanation of her death "a pack of lies."

Of course now the "official" explanation of her death was that she hit her head on the limo. Had nothing to do with the bullets.

Right.

Of course we should beleive the government hook line and sinker just like all our righty friends buy the company bullshit here in the US from Bushco.

Why should we ever doubt a government that assumes power through a military coup, forms alliances with terrorists, disbands the supreme court, arrests opponents and destroys the free media?

Too funny, and since the official cause of death massive is from trauma to the skull; which crushed it.

It's a cover up to say she wasn't shot, but just blown-up-to-death ...

al-qaida....possible.
Equally possible...Musharraf supporters

Equally possible: She fell and hit her head.
