In television interviews Thursday, Republican candidate Ron Paul said that Benazir Bhutto's assassination is further evidence the U.S. should meddle less in the affairs of other countries.

God damn it! Something got screwe up in the format up there. Here are the two links I was attempting to post:

Everything is in small caps, wierd.

Damn. Now he tells us.

Was it a surprise for anyone that the religious nuts finally got through to her?

It actually was a little for me, given the number of failed attempts.

You would have thought the security they would engage would have been better.

At least if I was going to stand in her place it damn well would have been!

Regards,
etc.

I'll compromise with the Paulies-sneak in, take all their nukes, whack AG Khan and then stay out.
As a gynocologist, RP should understand that somethings you simply can't unscrew.

Some of those ideas arguably have environmental merit. Paul is known for his zealous opposition to the Iraq war, which he duly notes causes pollution and the "burning of fuel for no good purpose." He wants to yank all subsidies and R&D funding from the energy sector, which many believe would benefit the growth of renewables. A cyclist himself, he has cosponsored bills that would offer tax breaks to Americans who commute by bicycle and use public transportation. Still, his libertarian presidency would, among other things, allow drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, boost the use of coal, and embrace nuclear power. Moreover, it wouldn't do diddly about global warming because, Paul reasons, "we're not going to be very good at regulating the weather."

Well there's a mighty big strike with the enviro voters.

How many votes does that posture cost him?

I am also the prime sponsor of HR 300, which would negate the effect of Roe v Wade by removing the ability of federal courts to interfere with state legislation to protect life. This is a practical, direct approach to ending federal court tyranny which threatens our constitutional republic and has caused the deaths of 45 million of the unborn.

Welp. So much for Ron getting the feminazi vote.

Pual is an isolationist....and we all know how well that worked out last time

Blacks have "civil riqhts," preferences, set-asides for government
contracts, gerrymandered voting districts, black bureaucracies, black
mayors, black curricula in schools, black beauty contests, black tv shows,
black tv anchors, black scholorships and colleges, hate crime laws, and
public humiliation for anyone who dares question the black agenda.

Two years ago, in a series of predictions for the 1990s, I said that
race riots would erupt in our large cities. I'm now predicting this will be
the major problem of the 1990s.

It doesn't look like Ron will garner much of the black vote either.

You might be asking, what's my point.

My point is that it really doesn't matter what Ron Paul thinks regarding Pakistan any more than it matters what you, I or anyone on this board thinks because none of us are going to occupy the White House, including Mr. Paul.

Paul isn't an isolationist....he's a non-interventionist....big difference. He supports a very involved trade/talk policy with other countries and a strong national defense here at home. You've got some homework to do Judas....or you can take the lazy way out.

Kris Ron Paul won't garner much of the vote from any group period. He definatly will not garner any votes from the I've been victimized groups.

However anyone who feals they are an individual and would like to be treated as such will be a big fan.

Ride On is right there Kris.

If you think free trade is an isolationist policy then you need to do some serious foreign policy homework before you make decisions on who will occupy the White House.

Ron Paul's libertarian views masquerade as pre-Civil War Federalism to staunch conservatives, and Vietnam-era anti-war activism to dedicated Liberals. In reality though, his views are unrealistic on a national scale -- and even in his own district, he compromises them all the time to bring home the "pork" and get re-elected.

He is a political anomaly that has been able to buck his own party a lot of the time, but still bring home the bacon for his tiny part of the world---he's an oddball footnote in the current history of our nation.

I actually like Mr. Pauls domestic postitions(traditional values) and find him much more favorable than any other candidates.

I just don't trust his take on foriegn policy. The holy war that radical islam is waging on civilization is real. It isn't something that can be erradicated by staying home and sticking your head in the sand.

"find him much more favorable than any other candidates(sic)"

Sad, ain't it?

Ron's one of the two politicians I ever voted for who were elected.

Kris not sure what you are talking about.

With strong focus on the borders, national security, and the increase in troops on American soil would we be safer than with open boarders, troops all over the world and a homeland security department that has become an international joke?

Ron's one of the two politicians I ever voted for who were elected.

Now that's what I call reassuring. let's hope it stays that way. Who was the other one?

"open boarders"

Fine with me.

Open 'em up right down the middle.

Then put their heads on pikes along the border.

Physics grad school joke from the 60's:

"How do you smuggle a nuke in?
Wrap it in marijuana!"

"Who was the other one?"

Ann Richards.

Ann Richards.

May she rest in peace. I didn't agree with much of her politics but I liked her anyway. She was so colorful, tenacious and had such a larger then life personality that I think all of us could admire her.

Ann Richards was a Texan, to start with;

As opposed to the Yalie frat rat son of a Connecticut carpetbagger.

I think the lies Rove spread in that gubernatorial campaign pretty much epitomizes the post-Goldwater Republican party. The Democrats went to hell with Lyndon.

I can see Ann walking away from a gun fight with Cheney and Huckabee.

Easy.

I just listened to my original "Everything You Know Is Wrong" on vinyl.

There was one pop.

One.

Sweet.

Spud is coincidently enuff working on a theory that BBob is actually the luff chile of Buzz and Bunny Crumbhunger.

Just a hypothesis at the moment.

Got no real hard data to back that up.

Hunch thing, really.

Be Well.

Ta fer the visual.

Spud can do nothing but concur.

Even if Cheney were stone cold sober and Mike managed to be allowed to touch a gun again after his pitiful display the other day, it simply wouldn't be a contest.

Be Well.

Paul is right. We gave Musharraf what, 11 billion? And this is our reward.

When are we going to stop arming/funding our future enemies?

When they take the democracy bullshit seriously.

A betterG new year to allG...

Whatever happened to the idea that the Pakastanis should determine for themselves what kind of government and society they want?

I guess that idea went out the window with the corrupt self-appointed morality and democracy "decider" Bush. Bush says to all Muslims "sure you can have an election, but if you elect someone we don't like we will bomb you".

Maybe Bush could give them some Diebold voting machines while he's at it.

Who the hell are we to preach to them about democracy and morality?

We need to stay out of it? Let AQ take over a country with nukes?
Don't worry until they take out an American city.
That makes loads of sense.

Answer: When we have sensible "real" Americans (not people claiming to have our nations best interests as theirs) directing the foreign policy of this nation.

Sense? Funding foreign nations with American tax dollars doesn't make sense either does it?
Think about it.

Jakeb, these Al Qaeda leaders send others to committ suicide, but they don't believe themselves the bullshit they preach about 72 virgins. They are cowards and not suicidal. Just like the USRR never nuked us, neither will these Islamists.

Also, the nuclear excuse should not be used to keep throwing away money down the toilet.

We are addicted not only to oil, but to an interventionist control-freak foreign policy and we need to quite making excues: Oh, I'll lose weight after new years, oh, I'll quite smoking next month when it's less stressful, etc.

Bulsshit. Let's quit cold turkey our destructive interventionist foreign policy. It's for our own good.

They are cowards and not suicidal. Just like the USRR never nuked us, neither will these Islamists.

Member, gotta disagree with you. The islamacists pulling the strings won't be in any major target. They'll be sittng in a cave somewhere in waziristan or the Sheraton in saudia arabia. If they got the paki nukes, and fried Tel Aviv, they'd love to see a massive response hitting islamabad or karachi. It'd be win-win for them. Whacking the jews and the jews whacking millions of innocent muslims.

The world is about to get a little more interesting as this country possesses a nuclear arsenal.

northguy3, that would be like saying that the mutual assured destruction doctrine was not realistic because both Soviet and US leaders would head down to their bunkers and would not be harmed by the bomb.
