A new National Intelligence Estimate released on Monday indicates that 16 US intelligence agencies have concluded with a high level of confidence that Iran has not had an active nuclear weapons program since 2003 and that even if it resumed weapons development, it would be unlikely to obtain a nuclear bomb in less than 5 to 10 years.

This is especially for Right Isn't, and Krusty Bacon who seemed incredulous that Dick Cheney might have been pushing for military action against Iran.

Or that current diplomatic efforts were a direct result of Rice prevailing over him in the ongoing battle in the (mis)administration.

Oh, this is in addition to the 4-5 other links I provided supporting that contention.

SanAntonioRogue You aught to know these Bushites don't give a shit about the truth. They can not styomach the truth.

Today -

"Republican Senator Chuck Hagel called for the U.S. to offer 'direct, unconditional and comprehensive talks' with Iran - where all issues, ours and Iran's, are on the table, including ... security guarantees, and other incentives."

If facts dont corespond to ideology, hide em and "Catapolt the propaganda"...GWB

However, the NIE was no surprise to veteran investigative reporter Seymour Hersh, who has been writing about it since November 2006.

Seeing as we are coming up on about three years since Seymour has predicted Bush will attack Iran ... Why would anyone care what this clown has to say?

"Seeing as we are coming up on about three years since Seymour has predicted Bush will attack Iran ... Why would anyone care what this clown has to say?"

Because he's pretty much been right about everything he's written. And on the subject of attacking Iran, I'll explain this just one more time since you are just joining in today.

Hersh reported what he saw going on... Dick Cheney and his allies pushing hard for a military response against Iran. At that point the odds weighed heavily toward big Dick getting what he wanted.

Giving credit where credit is due, Condi Rice and her faction pushed back hard, advocating more direct diplomacy and negotiations. As many of Cheney's neocon allies left the administration, Rice's camp began to get stronger.

I'm sure you're not saying that just because we haven't attacked Iran that means there were/are no plans to do so, or that nobody (coughCheneycough) was pushing to do just that.

Really??? He claims in Jan. 05 we have had special forces in Iran targeting military complexes. Yet the Pentagon claims he is full of shit and has no credibility. This was about 35 months ago. Yet every few months he comes out of the pond scum and spews the same shit about how Cheney and Bush are ready to attack Iran. How long to they need to plan and attack? I would think if special forces have been in Iran this long, some military action would have been taken. What are they waiting for?

Why do so many things that turn out so negative end up with the greasy fingerprints of Darth Cheney?

Why do so many things that turn out so negative end up with the greasy fingerprints of Darth Cheney?

Because we have such an incompetent idiot as president that the VP is running the country.

Congressional approval for starters....

"He claims in Jan. 05 we have had special forces in Iran targeting military complexes."

Do you think its beyond the realm of possibility that this could be true? Is it not possible we have sent in special forces on trial runs to test the waters and gather intelligence info?

I mean, I know pre-planning isn't your guy's forte, but it could have happened, right?

"He claims in Jan. 05 we have had special forces in Iran targeting military complexes."

Reminds me of this story:

A Guy walks in to a psychic gypsy, drops a double sawski on the table, and says, "What's my future?"
The gypsy tells him, "Later this week you'll be shot and killed by an unknown assailant in Las Vegas."
He thank ths gypsy and walks out the door.
the following week he comes back to the gypsy and says, "You are a fraud! I'm stil alive, and no one tried to shoot me.
"Were you in Vegas?" she said
"No," he said, "I decided not to make that trip after you told me I'd be killed there."
The gypsy smiled knowingly.

At least this blows a big hole in the Fighty Righty's Vast Left Wing in the State Department Conspiracy theory.

And Crispee-we're still babysitting the anti-Iranian MEK terrorists working out of Iraq-I guess there's no way any SF guys could be assisting them, is there?
