President Bush will host five American winners of this year's Nobel Prizes in the Oval Office on Nov. 26, including Peace Prize winner Al Gore. "I'm sure he would love to give the slide show to the president," a Gore adviser said.

IF we only knew back in 2000 what we know now...Gore would be President. Bush seems like a likeable guy but Bush has screwed the US and the World with his failed policies.... in Iraq, Katrina, the CIA with outing CIA operatives, Kyoto, spending like no other President, selling the US to China, open borders, trying to sell our ports to the enemy, just a plain idiot...Gore on the otherhand is a bit out of touch but damn he is smart, got an Oscar, Nobel Peace Prize, Rock Concert Promoter and is respected in the world like few are....If only we knew...

"IF we only knew back in 2000 what we know now..."

Back then I found them to be equally bad candidates for President. I still don't think Gore was a great candidate, but I have to admit that there is no way he could be as big a disaster as Bush.

Why would Al attend?

To show his support for wreckless spending?

To show his support for the war machine over human beings and their inalienable rights?

Isn't it peculiar how Shrub has used his Daddy and Clinton to shore up his credibility?

It goes to show they rarely mean what they say.

That is why the fringe candidates are so interesting; Kucinich, Paul, Nader, Friedman, Gravel, even odd Dodd help us believe we live in a Democracy. But these candidates can afford to be honest since they cannot win. Money locks them out. Only those who sell out get to take the reins.

The Oligarchy has funded bullshit at an overwhelming level called Conservative Think Tanks within a higher education framework. These propaganda machines have infected foriegn brains to such an extent that they have given Milton Friedman a Noble Prize. To his dying breath Friedman denied the reality of his policies, couched in the language of freedom, which actually destroyed millions of lives South of the Border and throughout the former Soviet Union, Asia and Africa. Its all bullshit intended to gain control of lifes basic necessities through the magic of privatization. Even Canada was attacked by these goons posing as responsible Bankers while spending millions in a campaign to lower Canada's Bond Rating and then raise interest rates.

There is no evidence that privatization has saved anybody a penny. All it has done is make the raiders rich. In the mighty USA, Oligarchy rule is further assured by a private monopoly on communication. The cost of advertising is soo outrageous that only the rich have a voice.

Albert should try to keep it in mind to always have witnesses present. To come face to face with the man you hijacked the presidency from should provide some swell kodachrome moments, doncha think Lil'Boots? I've got your "heh heh" right here.

Kyoto

I can't really disagree with you on the other issues, but this one just jumps out.

If you are going to lay blame on Bush, you have to lay it at the feet of another president.

How quickly you forget.

And you really beleive that a liberal democrat is going to be any different?

Axiom's reference shows us how both sides sell out to the same people. We get to choose the personality we like the best. But, the large campaign donors make policy, regardless who "wins" the fake elections.

Bush Will Honor Gore at White House

I hope he takes Gore to the Oval Office and says, "here Al, I know you've wanted to do this for a long time -- why don't you come over to the desk, and sit in my chair."

Bush gets up. Al goes to sit in the chair. And then Bush pulls it out from under him so he falls flat on his ass.

LOL

That would be hilarious.

Bush - Gore II. This time in a friendly atmosphere.

Bush should declare Gore the undisputed President of Global Warming. And Gore should declare that Bush won the Presidency squarely and that all dissenters alleging a stolen Presidency be squashed, including the next nominee Hillary Clinton who will hand the Presidency to another Republican for eight years.

That would be hilarious.

that would be in tune with his IQ level

Yeah...you're right, Bowzer...yuckity-yuk-yuk.

The Word of the Day is...Sociopath.

I hope he takes Gore to the Oval Office and says, "here Al, I know you've wanted to do this for a long time -- why don't you come over to the desk, and sit in my chair."

That's the closest any of the GOP candidates will be getting too. And, given Bush's albatross qualities, you could say he's pulled the chair out from all of them too.
Except RudiG. His own corruption is taking care of that.

Bowa you are pathetic.

If I were Gore I wouldn't go. But fortunately I'm not.

Awwwwkwaaaard...

And, given Bush's albatross qualities, you could say he's pulled the chair out from all of them too.

It all depends on the fortunes of war. If conditions in Iraq continue improving as they have since August, then Harry "the war is lost" Reid, and Nancy "There's no light at the end of the tunnel" Pelosi will be the albatross around the Democrats neck.

Why would Al attend?

To show his support for wreckless spending?

To show his support for the war machine over human beings and their inalienable rights?

Nutcase, as strange as a revelation this is going to be to you, not eveyone's life is consumed with politics. Not even professional politicians.

Maybe the country would be a lot better if everyone put aside petty politics once in a while.

Leads me to some questions. If Bush invited you to come to a dinner with him at the White House and to spend the night there without a campaign donation... would you accept? Would you even shake his hand? Would you speak with him and, if you would, what would you actually say to him?

Posted by OohRah at 2007-

no, would not accept, so the other questions are moot.

no, would not accept,

Why not?

Leads me to some questions. If Bush invited you to come to a dinner with him at the White House and to spend the night there without a campaign donation... would you accept?

YES. In a heartbeat. I've always wanted to see the White House and to spend the night there would be a real added thrill. Bush would just happen to be the one occupying it at that moment -- nothing more.

Would you even shake his hand?

NO, unless Bush extended his hand first. Then I would show good manners and shake Bush's hand because I respect the Office of the Presidency -- not because I respect the man occupying it. There's a difference.

Would you speak with him

I would if spoken to. Until he is gone it is his and his family's residence and if I am invited to spend the night I would be cordial. Nothing more.

... and, if you would, what would you actually say to him...

I would get thrown out before I would get to spend the night if I told Bush what I really thought. My purpose is to see history -- the White House --and spend the night there. I can make my opinion known to Bush in many other ways. As I said -- I would be polite and cordial as I would to anyone who invited me into their home for the night -- but nothing more. I respect the office, not the man currently holding it.

I agree with you, CC. That's why I asked CiK why he would decline. I can put aside petty politics long enough for the chance to embrace a major piece of history!

IF we only knew back in 2000 what we know now...

There would not have been a recount. Bush would have won hands down.

Algore has proved himself to be an idiot many times in the years following the election. Every year he seems to get worse.

Brilliant description of Lil' Georgie!

Just no desire whatsoever to meet Bush

Nor I. I guess we view the hypothetical event differently. YOu see the event as "meeting Bush". I see the event as "visiting, dining, and sleeping in the white house".

Goat

I guess I just like to sleep in my own bed. And, I prefer to dine with people I like.

Clintonisking- sorry but that makes you sound just like W's kind of guy. :-)

I think Jeff Gannon is W's kind of guy....

I guess I just like to sleep in my own bed. And, I prefer to dine with people I like.

I fully understand. I'm a history nut and my bedroom and dining room don't have near the history as White House's facilities. I'd jump at the chance!

"I hope he takes Gore to the Oval Office and says, "here Al, I know you've wanted to do this for a long time -- why don't you come over to the desk, and sit in my chair."

You're very young, aren't you?

Why would Bush do this?

Afterall, according to LimpBlob and Ha-Nutty, it's just a worthless piece of medal.

So worthless to Ha-Nutty that he said 'I would give mine to the soldiers"

Why does Ha-Nutty want to give our soldiers a 'worthless piece of medal"?, never mind the fact that he NEVER has to worry about winning one.

Sour grapes on the part of the righty-tighty spin machine.

If conditions in Iraq continue improving as they have since August

Cholera is an improvement?

IF we only knew back in 2000 what we know now...Gore would be President. Bush seems like a likeable guy but Bush has screwed the US and the World with his failed policies

The terrorists of 9/11 and Saddam's invasion of Kuwait were failed polices not Bush's. Just think Bin Laden would still be training his followers under the Taliban and Saddam would still be in power, harming and killing his own people. Iran would still want to nuke Israel if given the chance.

The policy on the surge is working and saving lives and allowing some troops to come home despite what the Dems say. They want it to fail, only one Dem in the whole debate actually gave a positive comment to the troops for doing a good job. All they did was complain about Bush.

The surge wasn't suppose to create a political solution because it's a military action for security...No doubt even though not all the benchmarks are being met but security objectives are getting closer to being met and this would in fact allow the Iraqis to take control of all their country security, and then agrue over political ideals. I would deem that a success.

I agree not all Bush's polices have been a success, nor do I agree with all his polices. On the other hand you have the Dems in power and promised lower prices on gas, but prices of gas have risen over 30 percent. They been a non-factor on their promise on that issue, that is why they like to focus on Bush cuz most of their promises are just that "promises."

Bush is a likeable man who doesn't feel awkward about being happy for Gore winning a Nobel prize like Gore does.

Bush is a likeable man

Posted by MikeWarrior

Brought to you by the 23% that are totally clueless

Bush is a likeable man

His wife likes him (sometimes)
His dog likes him
His mother likes him.

Give me a couple weeks and maybe I can think of somebody else.

Bush walks to East Room podium:

"I'd like to con..conGRATulate Vice President Gore for winning the noble prize."

noble prize?

OK . . . that one, too.

Intentional misspelling (and mispronounciation by Bush...par for the course ala 'nuculer...LOL)

Leads me to some questions. If Bush invited you to come to a dinner with him at the White House and to spend the night there without a campaign donation... would you accept? Would you even shake his hand? Would you speak with him and, if you would, what would you actually say to him?

right and there are plenty of present day dems who wouldnt either.

which is why bush once again shows he has more class in his little finger than dems have in their entire body as a group.........

I HATE IT when he gets this so goody goody feely with the dems.......he SHOULD invite all of them EXCEPT AL and then say.....well,...I will invite him when he and other dems stop the typical democrat bullshit.......so I guess he would never be invited......

of course thats what I MIGHT do...........
but then I dont have to put up with the liberal democrat bullshit.......

bushlovertwo = traitor

leon.....you really dont know what the fuck you are talking about...so you are going to have to actually write some real and complete thought.....

traitor??????

you are calling me a traitor on a site FILLED with some of the most defeatest and traitorous comments seen since the last democrat caucas????

you have got to be kidding.....please tell me you are kidding.....

or maybe just explain the comment.....

"or maybe just explain the comment....."

Yeah, bullshitlover2, explain YOUR comment:

"of course with taxes back up over 50% because of dems in congress....."

Posted by bushlovertwo at

That can happen in only one of three ways:
1. President George W. Bush signed into law the legislation passed by Congress raising taxes "back up over 50%"; or,

2. President George W. Bush vetoed the legislation passed by Congress raising taxes "back up over 50%", only to have the Congress override said veto; or,

3. The US Constitution was amended sometime between January, 2007 and now, changing it to where legislation passed by Congress no longer needs the president's signature to become law.
So, which is it, bullshitlover2?

Is it 1 or 2? If so, which one, and when did it happen?

Is it 3? If so, what is the number of this amendment, when did it become part of the Constitution, and when did Congress pass the law raising taxes "back up over 50%", which no longer needed the president's signature?

Which is it, bullshitlover2? It has to be 1, 2 or 3.

Or, is this just a case of, when you claimed that "with taxes back up over 50% because of dems in congress", you were just talking out of your ass, as usual?

So, which is it, bullshitlover2? 1, 2 or 3, or you just talking out of your ass again?
