I get a chuckle out of the elite spelling flamers. I imagine they must be impressed by schools which actually teach, rather than shuffle the masses through the mill, as expeditiously as possible.

Well, of course, that is a laud respect for disciplined teaching. It is just too bad it is so rare. Those lucky enough to attend a school with dedicated teachers are surely well to do and their parents sent them to private school. Even more rare is the public school whose teachers can graduate students who know how to spell the phonically similar sounding words, or know when to use 'then' and when to use 'than'.

The irony occurs when the elitist is hoist on their own petard, and they too misspell some word or another that they always seem to get careless in using, and their patronizing facade turns into invisible clothing ... and they are discovered to be merely projecting their own shortcomings by the original attempt to belittle for such a shallow reason ...
