Despite years of denials, a secret planning document issued by the U.S. military's nuclear-weapons command in 2003 ordered preparations for nuclear strikes on countries seeking to acquire weapons of mass destruction, including Iran, Saddam Hussein-era Iraq, Libya and Syria.

Real Project for the New American Century neocon stuff, this. Try: "Benevolent Global Hegemony":
William Kristol and the Politics of American Empire" by Gary Dorrien

Very much within the neocon perceptual universe of the Cheneys and Rummys. And absolutely terrifying. Remember, folks, Bush-Cheney is in for another year and two months. Lots of time for pushing this country into whatever the next nightmare is that they may have dreamed up for us.

Duh, we make several thousand plans every month concerning national security.

Oh ya? Against countries with no nuclear weapons? Offensive nuclear strikes? I don't think so dude.

Actually that headline should have read:

"Isreal plans to nuke Iran,Syria,Lybia...by way of all the officials its "owns" in the U.S.Govt and the Pentagon!"

It's time to nuke Canada.

Iraq, Iran, Syria and Libya?

Yeah cos those guys are a real imminent threat to America, sure ...riiiiight!

America, you really ARE AIPAC's BITCH!!

Be Well.

PS: It's time to nuke Canada.

Ever look at a map of North America, Vern?

If North America was a prison that'd make you Canada's bitch!

PPS: Wot's the Canadian dollar doing in relation to yer play money?

Oh, jeez...you're gonna kill the old man at this rate.

Sic 'em tater!!

Nuke em! Yeah. It'll be about ten days til the fallout reaches us here in the US. Probably be hours till it reaches our troops in Iraq.

Yeah, you idiots support the troops and love America. Riiiightt.

Danni it's all "Rapture" (and no troubling evidence)

Cheney is convinced he's going to Heaven soon, anyway, so what the hell?

Too much woman fer you, Ness?

Up here in Canada she would be prized fer ability to keep a man warm through the long cold winter months.

Hell, two men could have an affair with her at the same time and never meet.

Ever watch any of them "Lil Bush" cartoons?

Spud's favorite from season one was called "Cheney in Hell"

Cheney goes to Hell and Satan lets him torture folks and he's so enthusiastic about the process he ends up making Satan puke.

He can go be with the same god (small 'g') that told W to invade Iraq. Don't think it was the 'upstairs' one.

SPUD

I friggin' LOVE your posts!! You're my favorite 'Skinwalker' of all time!! (SNL skit LOL)

I would like to see at least once an article about Iran, etc where the talk backs do not include the usual bullshit about Cheney going to hell, capitalism, and Israel taking over the world.

A little restraint, a little imagination, a little elegance, a little thinking by yourself instead of recycling again and again the same old headlines from god knows what obscure teenager blog.

Take example:
www.youtube.com

Plans to nuke Iran are made with the knowledge and encouragement of Cheney yet Kucinich is portrayed as crazy. With stories like this it is becoming more frightening every day we let these criminals stay in office. It is becoming obvious that support for impeachment is a test of sanity.
I can just hear the "normal" folks like Pelosi whining the day after they nuke Iran. The Speaker of the House is negligent in her responsibilities. A clear and present danger exists in the Executive Branch and she just worries about the next election.

DANIK

Wake up Churchill. We could use him. Get FDR while you're at it too. Together they won a world war in less time than we've been in Iraq. Their sage advice and guidance is much needed to 'win' in a country of 25 million (formerly).

In the meantime we're stuck for another 14 months with an idiot for president and a VP who acts like he is - without the oversight.

One final thought on this thread:

Did those that created plans for a nuclear strike in the heart of desert account for the plumes of radioactive dust that would spread radiation poisoning across the globe?

Yessir, we did.
It's called "collateral damage."

It's time to nuke Canada.

YEAH!

You whine and cry about this very same rhetoric coming from elsewhere as the impetus of declaring them terrorist?!

This constitutes a threat against an American ally and a good neighbor of the USA and I have sent your IP and a history of your previous posts instigating violence against innocents to the Canadian authorities.

Perhaps they will get a kick out of your "Just Kidding" back peddle!

Enjoy.

We attacked Iraq as a preemptive measure because the republicans claimed they were planning to attack us. So this must give Iran, Libya and Syria the right to attack us. Right? If true then 911 was perfectly legal because we had plans to attack Afghanistan.

""Did those that created plans for a nuclear strike in the heart of desert account for the plumes of radioactive dust that would spread radiation poisoning across the globe?""

"No one could ever have imagined......"

Bush thinks fallout is a dandruff problem.

Hmmm. Is it just possible that we draw up plans for all kinds of contingencies? I'm sure somewhere there are invasion plans for Cuba and North Korea in a drawer somewhere, along with plans for nuclear strikes from the Warsaw Pact days of Czechoslavakia, Poland, Romania, the Baltic States--countries that have never attacked us either, but who had enormous Soviet bases on them.

And is it also possible that the news of these plans in the Middle East were released to make a political point? That the US is ready in the event of these regimes acquiring nuclear devices, to immediately respond in the event they are ever used?

Nah. The DR libs are too busy salivating over the prospect of war planners planning for the possibility of war against hostile regimes to think through these things. Interesting to see them reflexively leap to the rhetorical defense of the Iranians and the Syrians, though. Funny, kinda.

apparently the concept of having a contingency plan for everything is just too complicated for some....

I hope all these "contingency" plans are a lot better than the Iraq Plan...

"apparently the concept of having a contingency plan for everything is just too complicated for some...."

Like those who planned the invasion of Iraq?

The strategy in Iraq was predicated on the assumption that once Saddam fell, Iraqis would hold hands and sing "God Bless America" before enthusiastically going about the peaceful rebuilding of their country according to our specifications.

Not even the slightest deviation from that incredibily naive assumption was mitigated by proper planning. If such negligence led to the loss of life in the private sector, it would be considered criminal.

If anyone dares to protect themselves from us with weapons similar to what we already have, we must destroy them. Its only logical.

Oh ya? Against countries with no nuclear weapons? Offensive nuclear strikes? I don't think so dude.

Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2007-11-06 09:42 PM

Right there is your problem stupid, you dont think. Any country that can be percieved as a threat th the U.S. has plans made. These plans consist of stopping the threat, invading the country, removing their Government and yes even eniliation. Those who dont have plans usually lose the war.

OK, now here is your chance to apply this to the Iraq war. Go ahead Libs, get it over with.

Yes these facts are considered. Why the hell do you think that we didnt use them before?

Your right, there were no liberals that were saying that Iraq was a threat. Those were all made up by the evil Republicans.

I hope all these "contingency" plans are a lot better than the Iraq Plan...

Actually, the Iraq Invasion Plan worked beautifully. The Iraq Aftermath Plan (if there even was one), not so much.

As the Drudge Nanny would say, don't confuse the libs with facts.

Rightocenter-
Was there an "Iraq Aftermath Plan"?

Iraq Invasion Plan (March 19 - May 1, 2003 "Mission Accomplished" announcement):
US KIA 138
Wounded 542.

Iraq Post-Invasion No-Plan, Non-Plan Plan (the next 54 months):
US KIA 3,876
Wounded 27,004

"apparently the concept of having a contingency plan for everything is just too complicated for some...."

Like those who planned the invasion of Iraq?

-sully

did you have a point there? those that planned the invasion of iraq surely understand the concept of having a contingency plan for every scenario. thier plan for the aftermath of the invasion was shit. so. whats ur point?

did you not have one and you just wanted to spout iraq with no connection to my original statement?

makes perfect sense to have a number of plans. cities practice disaster drills, schools and offices have fire alarms, sports teams practice, well, sports.......how difficult is it to understand. sure, it's not the kind of thing we like to think or talk about, but we have to plan ahead for these scenarios.....unless you know of and are actually willing to share A BETTER WAY.

"did you have a point there? those that planned the invasion of iraq surely understand the concept of having a contingency plan for every scenario. thier plan for the aftermath of the invasion was shit. so. whats ur point?"

If it makes you happy, I should have said the "Iraq war" instead of "invasion of Iraq". But c'mon: Saying that the "invasion" and "aftermath" are two different things is just a game in semantics. Nobody ever thought that we would just topple Saddam and then immediately leave. From the very start the Bushies knew that the invasion necessitated post-Saddam planning. They just couldn't be bothered. Spin it any way you want but the war wasn't planned completely and that was a great betrayal of the people sent over there.

"did you not have one and you just wanted to spout iraq with no connection to my original statement?"

You indicated that the concept of contigency planning is "too complicated for some" in defense of the nuclear plans developed by this administration. That indicates that the Bushies have some understanding of contingency planning that their critics do not. So I gave you an example where their refusal to produce necessary contingency plans cost American servicemen their lives.

They are negligent and lazy failures when it comes to contingency planning, not strategic masters that are so above the rest of us. That was my point.

point taken, and well said.

however: "You indicated that the concept of contigency planning is "too complicated for some" in defense of the nuclear plans developed by this administration."

u assumed here that i'm defending nuclear plans developed by this admin. really i'm 'defending' contingency plans themselves. thier purpose is quite obvious and necessary to most, imho. i was reacting to ignorant partisan knee jerk reactions such as: "Nuke em! Yeah. It'll be about ten days til the fallout reaches us here in the US. Probably be hours till it reaches our troops in Iraq.

Yeah, you idiots support the troops and love America. Riiiightt."

these nuclear contingency plans were created by the nuclear weapons command, overseen by HS, overseen by the WH. they are part of a shift in focusing our entire military strategic planning off russia-china, to more relevent, practical future enemies.

The ignorance of the public is never ending! At one moment, the sniveling radicals are shouting, "NO PLANS", and then the next they are puling their guts out because the government DOES PLAN.

You stupid hypocrites are literally destroying your party with all this calumny! However, like some, you are just too dense to get it; to understand what complete fools you make of yourselves ...

Oh Dear Taddy Boy is here. Bout time to don the HipWaders cause the shit is gonna get deep quick.
