Eighteen big rigs were involved in the massive pileup on Highway 99 just south of Fresno as patches of dense fog obscured visibility on the heavily traveled roadway, CHP official.

You're only hearing about the tip of the iceberg. There was another big rig that fishtailed a few days ago and tied up for HOURS the main freeway going into LAX. Then there was all those big rigs trapped in the tunnel with the fire closing the I-5 over the Grapevine and all traffic out of L.A.. EVERY OTHER DAY we are having huge big rig accidents out here. EVERY OTHER DAY! I have never in my life seen or read of so many big rig accidents ever before.

California has always had fog, always had rain slicked roads, always had driving problems but NEVER the amount of big rig accidents like is happening now.

"NEVER the amount of big rig accidents"

Wait a while.
It will get worse.

Fuck big rigs. Almost got killed by one a few years ago. Give them their own lane separated by a divider, or move most trucking to rail. I'm sick of being boxed in by idiot truck drivers jacked up on speed who can't seem to understand the concept of signaling lane changes.

Let's throw mexican drivers into the fray in increasing numbers - thank you NAFTA.

What the hell?
Is this some plotline from a 70s movie or tv show?

Although-after being stationed at Fort Ord in '72 and '73-I've said-I got a look at the driving Manual given out by the State.

It's 75 blank pages-the 76th page-reads...

KILL!!

Love that Tuley Fog mmm mmmm mmmm

California is the world's 10th largest economy. They can handle it.

It won't endanger the world either. I feel so much better knowing that.

Where are Jon Baker and Frank Poncherello when you need them?

That damn Bush is at it again.

I feel better now.

Isn't that a cryin' shame? You'd think he'd have better things to do. Too bad "dickless" doesn't intervene.

Unfortunately--these accidents occurr from time to time. It's awful that --I guess three people were killed.

The CHP should be closing the freeway when the fog is so bad. It can't be more than a couple of hours.

And that tunnel accident was a diverted portion of the highway just for trucks--so they can avoid the Grapevine--snow and high mountain to get over the pass.

I handle truck accidents, they are not all bad--but this doesn't help the reputation.
