A pipe bomb was found in the truck of a contract worker when security staffers stopped him at an entrance to the nation's largest nuclear power plant Friday, a plant spokesman told USA TODAY.

Nothing to see here, just keep moving.

We had some guy throw a pipe bomb on the side of the freeway here in San Diego today. Closed the traffic on I-5.

Glad I work at home.

Had another really great week. Wahoo!

The contractor was probably a plumber. It sounds to me like another case of authorities gone nuts.

A real pipe bomb? Or a piece of pipe wacked out authorities called a pipe bomb?

RAY: What are you saying? Try spelling it out for us.

This does sound odd. The descripton I heard earlier was a "small capped pipe"

Sounds like a step above a firecracker to me.

The domestic terror threat is just a fear tactic concocted by Bush/ Cheney as part of their plan to create marshall law just before the 2008 elections and be dictators for life.

VERNON

That could happen.

I think I read recently that Karl Rove was spotted in NYC taking pictures of the Empire State Building.

Ya' never really know with this bunch, do you?

I thought I was clear. The news headlines make incidences like these sound like terrorist attacks. When one digs deeper, there are no explosives involved. Just law authorities with wild imaginations. Hey man, these yahoos have to justify their jobs.

"The domestic terror threat is just a fear tactic concocted by Bush/ Cheney as part of their plan to create marshall law just before the 2008 elections and be dictators for life."

Kinda like they did just before the 2004 elections. Our little leftist-socialist friends had it right then too.

Bush/ Cheney need a domestic scare just befrore the holidays, and this is made-to-order.

C'mon, a nuke plant in the middle of the desert? No population in the area, so there's no serious terror target. Especially with all the nukes around major cities like Chicago.

This guy they tagged with a 'bomb' is just some poor sap. He's an outside contractor from the other side of the U.S. Probably has no family to raise a stink (he's probably an immigrant) so he's the easiest one to blame, and then disappear to a secret CIA prison in Yemen.

Wake up you fools! This is just one little chapter in the PNAC manual.

He's saying that he sees authorities as I see them. Ever have to deal with a group that is in charge of some part of your life? We expect absolutely no mistakes from police and fire officials, yet they occur. They are human and they are dealing with extraordinary situations every day!

Similarly, our expectations of other authorities such as Medicaid and Housing Authorities are usually those of their commercial counterparts, but somehow, the performance of a government agency just doesn't cut it.

Ray is expressing his frustration with Authorities in general. I also have the same feeling.

It seems that when you have a collection of minds that the IQ of the group would improve. Take away incentive and accountability... IQ plummets.

More than 3,000 people are working at the plant now, including several hundred contract workers brought in to help with upgrades on one of the three nuclear reactors, which make Palo Verde the largest power plant in the United States.

3,000 workers make it the the largest? I guess this is a new 'large' scale invented by the media and I always thought MW output was the measure for a power plant.
