I just don't know.

Is Ralph feeling out of the loop lately?

Get over yourself, Ralph.

"Unsafe At Any Speed" was completely bull shit and Ralph Nader is its author. Ralph Nader is partially responsible for every single American soldier who has died in Iraq. Every amputee owes RAlph a thank you. The man's ego is more important to him than his country. The sooner America ignores this asshole the better.

Ralph Nader is partially responsible for every single American soldier who has died in Iraq.

Uh huh.

The man had the audacity to offer the American voter an alternate choice to the typical 2-party candidates.

Every presidential election has alternate candidates. Nader is hardly unique in this regard.

You are a sore loser, Danni.

So, Jeff, is it safe to assume you're a fan?

And you voted for him?

Ted,

No, I am not a fan and no, I did not vote for him.

It has been speculated that Perot cost BushI the '92 election.

That doesn't make Perot an asshole for running - this coming from someone who wanted Bush to win that election.

Jeff, Ralph Nader is a fraud, always has been.
Have you ever driven a Corvair???

Danni,

I agree that "Unsafe at any Speed" is bullshit.

Unfortunately, I've never had the pleasure of driving a Corvair.

I wasn't challenging your assertions about Nader being a fraud.

I was challenging your premise regarding 3rd-party candidates and the effect they sometimes have on elections.

I once had a 1962 Corvair. Very cool little car. Handled great. Had an interesting chick-magnet quality because it was unique. But before e-bay it was hell finding parts.

"The sooner America ignores this asshole the better."

translation ......

If Ralph Nader had not exercised his Constitutional rights then Algore would be president today. We'd all have free cars that run on air, a 12-hour work week, global peace, and the world would love and respect us like we were a big France.

Danni

The Corvair was one of the funnest cars to drive at the time. It certainly was not "unsafe at any speed".

One can only imagine what we'd be driving today if development had progressed from the Corvair. It was like GM said, OK we can't go in that direction, so we'll just go back to what we know.

Anybody remember how big cars got in the following ten years?

Anybody remember how big cars got in the following ten years?

Yes.

Even the supposed sporty 2-doors were huge.

Think of a '79 Ford Thunderbird.

If Ralph Nader had not exercised his Constitutional rights then Algore (copyright Rush Limbaugh) would be president today....and we would not now have troops in Iraq, would not have a two trillion dollar bill to pay for it and approximately 4000 soldiers would still be alive.

Jeff

I was thinking of the '72 Buick. The trunk lid would make a pretty good garage roof.

Sporty 2 doors?

My '64 'vair was pretty good.

The '69 'vette was a POS.

I drove one of these through the 70's.
www.schusterphoto.com

And kept driving it through the 80's.

And kept driving it through most of the 90's.

Damn thing was bulletproof; 300,000 miles.

Then I got one of these:
www.idee.demon.nl

There is no substitute. And they get good mileage.

One of these is what got me out here to the ranch this AM.

"I was thinking of the '72 Buick. The trunk lid would make a pretty good garage roof."

I had a '67 Bonneville that took two ZIP codes to park. 454 engine.

On the highway, once you got over 75 mph you could actually see the needle on the gas gauge move.

If Ralph Nader had not exercised his Constitutional rights then Algore (copyright Rush Limbaugh) would be president today....

So your issue is not with Nader. You just hate the Constitution. But we all knew that.

And you listen to Rush Limbaugh.

Zat,

Isn't your old Bimmer still being driven?

I seem to recall you mentioning seeing it at a grocery store, or something.

Vernon,

One of my cousins had a Trans Am with a 455 - same thing, on the highway you could actually watch the fuel needle move.

I sold it to my old friend Terry Sayther (Phoenix Motor Works, later Flight of the Phoenix Auto) who resold it here in Austin. I think I did see it once. It's likely still running. Those 2002s were really great cars.

"you could actually see the needle on the gas gauge move"

ROFL MAO!

I remember cars like that.
Of course gas was 19 cents.

"So your issue is not with Nader. You just hate the Constitution. But we all knew that.""

I never said he didn't have a right to run, I just think the people who voted for him are idiots.

Of course gas was 19 cents.

32 cents

Back then, working in a service station, if the sale was over $10 it was an event AND if it was on a CC, we had to call for authorization. Pissed people off, it took so long.

And once in a while, we were told to confiscate the card. Yeah right, some pimply 17 YO telling the guy in the Cad on his way to Vegas, "Sorry, sir. You can't have your card back."

I remember getting my windshield cleaned, oil checked etc. and just sat there in the car. Now we pay $3.00 and pump it ourselves. Meanwhile the oil companies make the largest profits in history.

Danni

If you were in a short skirt, four guys would be cleaning your windshield.

What really pisses the Oligarchy off is that they have never been able to find or manufacture scandal in Nader's life. He has led too simple a life.

"The Democratic Party is going after anyone who presents a credible challenge to their monopoly over their perceived voters."

...unfortunately, Ralph himself just gave a judge the reason to dismiss the lawsuit; he didn't present a credible challenge to anyone except BOWA.

BTW, I remember a small mom-and-pop country store in east TN near my home that sold gas for several years at 29.9 cents/gallon. The years were 1966-1969. That seems like a bad fairy tale now!

"If Ralph Nader had not exercised his Constitutional rights then Algore (copyright Rush Limbaugh) would be president today."

As long as we are using shit-for-brains logic, why not blame the authors of the Constitution for the war in Iraq?

Why not blame Al Gore? If he didn't run, the stupid hacks who voted in the Democratic primaries would have had to nominate a candidate who appeals to people outside their narrow minded club. Actually, why not blame those who voted in the primaries?

Why not blame everyone who voted for Gore for not voting for Nader, who would have won with all those votes?

One can only imagine what we'd be driving today if development had progressed from the Corvair.

I believe its called the Porsche. Though I know Porsche predates the corvair.

Danni: If Al had won his own state he'd be President.
Like him (and Perot) or hate him, he did what most of us are asking-offer a third party candidate.

Warning to Ralph: the idiot judge that sued the dry-cleaner lost his job-frivolous law suits can be dangerous to your wallet.

One of my cousins had a Trans Am with a 455 - same thing, on the highway you could actually watch the fuel needle move.

Knew a guy with a 69 427 Nickey Chevrolet Camaro. He put 4.88s in it-2mpg on the highway and 1 mpg in the city. Getting to work for him required a fill up mid way.
But it would knock your fillings out when he dumped the clutch.

""As long as we are using shit-for-brains logic, why not blame the authors of the Constitution for the war in Iraq?""

I think that the authors of the Constitution are one group we can't blame that war on because they explicitly made Congress responsible for declaring war which they did not do.
Congress including Democrats do share the blame but most of it is all Georgie's.

....as well he should. Renegades are the American way. But, you have now advanced to the HOPE you die (and as painfully as possible) DanniDrivel(tm) list. Congrats Ralph, you've now accomplished something meaningful.

And Rideon's fascination with me continues. I understand though, I am pretty fascinating.

But it would knock your fillings out when he dumped the clutch.

Guys with cars like this would do the $100 bill trick. They would lay the Benny on the dash in front of you and give you five seconds to grab it after he said "now".

It couldn't be done.

Memories.

I only point out the sicko people that HOPE and wish others to die (and as painfully as possible). If you consider that fascinating for yourself....well, continue to be hateful person....to each their own.

I don't think it is sick to hope for the demise of mass murderers.
Hey, did you hear about old Rummy....had to high tail it out of France because they might have arrested him for crimes against humanity. Guess they agree with my evaluation of that scum. And yes, if he ends his time on the Earth early I will applaud. The sooner the better and some of his friends can go with him.

The newest urban legend, now flying around the world courtesy of the internet. Quick question: if France wants to arrest him, why not issue a warrant for it? He doesn't have to be physically in-country for a court to demand his arrest.

Despite the rather routine charges flung about toward us righty-tighties about what we hear and believe on talk radio, you guys will believe ANYTHING you read on the internet. Unbelievable.

Wow... looks like the Democrats are the ones in reality supressing votes. Eek!

What about those that aren't mass murderers that you have expressed HOPE they die (and your normal addition of you HOPE it is a very painful). Face it you are a tool, a hater and full of poison....get over it, or just recognize it like most on the DR have.

Nader suing the dems, and moveon turning against some dems..... what's going on?

For sure, neither Karl Rove nor Rush Limbaugh is behind this.

""Face it you are a tool, a hater and full of poison""

Just can't tell you how much I really care about your opinion Ride. It matters, really it does.
Uh-huh.

""Face it you are a tool, a hater and full of poison""

Hey, if you don't want to face up to it....that's ok.....MOST see you for what you are. So it's all good....relax and hate away.

I'm late to the party, but I drove one of these: massey1964.tripod.com as a teenager, and this: www.4x4offroads.com in the late 80's through the 90's. I still miss both of them.

Kettle, meet Pot. (Although I don't agree with your characterization of Danni...)

Nader is a right-wing plant.

Come on Ralph, run again.

Get even.

Be a spoiler for the Democrats. You'll show them.
