I'm sure Woodstock (the original one, not that 90's piece of shit) was a great time, but the baby boomers' belief that this event was "important" has always mystified me. The majority of boomers grew up and gleefully sold out to became more greedy, self righteous and generally full of shit than any generation in history.

I LOVED the Woodstock film. Many, many people were turned away by the closing of the NY Turnpike, or there might have been close to a million there.

Most people of our generation would support this endeavor, just don't ask for Fed funds to back it. NY and private donors, knock yourself out. With all of the interest in Classic Rock this sounds like it could be a big hit!

Donner you're right about the folks who live "off the grid" etc. but if you could somehow track down all the people who were at Woodstock, you'd find a surprisingly huge number of very comfortable SUV-driving, portfolio-sweating, TV-watching, hard-minded conservatives from both the Right and the Left.
